I don’t use Photoshop hat often so I don’t learn anything, sigh… Ok I have an image and I would like to cut it in 5 parts, shuffle the parts and make another image with them, how can I do that?
I mean if i can cut Image A in parts A1 A2 A3 A4 A5, I want to create a final image B composed of parts A4 A1 A3 A5 A2 for instance, in this order.
The image is composed of squares, so any round brush is hard to use, i’d like to do clean vertical cuts every 100 pixels…
I’m lost in Photoshop options, help !
Thank you.

First set up guides View>New Guide. In the new guide dialogue box set the first to 100px, the second to 200px, etc.

Make sure View>Snap to>Guides is checked. Use the rectangular marquee tool to select your first section. Go Ctrl+J or Layer>New>Layer via copy to copy this selection to a new layer. Make the background layer active again then repeat for each of the five sections.

Now that you have each of the five sections on their own layers, you can turn off the visibility of the background layer and use the move tool to shuffle the five sections into a new order.

Hope this has helped.

Chris.
