Win XP Home, 706mhz, 512 RAM home made PC, PhotoShop Elements 2, Epson Stylus C80. After booting up, all colours disappear from screen. Uninstall PhotoShop Elements 2 and re boot, and the screen colours go back to normal. Why should this program cause this problem, please?

Has something to do with color profile that Adobe Gamma is using. Reinstall, run Adobe Gamma from control panel.

Use the step through Wizard, not the one screen option.
Choose a generic starting profile, sRGB Color Space Profile.icm ought to do.

Save final profile under a new name, like MySettings.icc.

See if that works for ya…
Also important that you aren’t using two calibration tools, so if you are, turn other one off, or remove Adobe Gamma from startup folder.

See in Elements Help:
Setting Up Photoshop Elements
Calibrating with Adobe Gamma

Thanks Mac for your helpful reply. I will do as you suggest but will have to wait until I replace my yellow cartridge which has just run out! Brian
