PS CS3 Filter Extract Preview button greyed out

And I cannot figure out how to get it so that I can click and see what was extracted.

I do not have caps lock on either.

Any thoughts?

Did you use the "fill" option first? the "Preview will not work on an unfilled selection.

yes, that did it…. select then fill and then preview works… thanks
