Expanding palette well in options bar Photoshop 6.1

Using Win XP, Photoshop 6.01: my Options Bar palette well is too small. Is there a way of lengthening it so palettes stored in the well will not overlap?

Size of the Palette Well is dependent on Monitor resolution. Is your monitor resolution high enough?
