CS2 – Save as PDF with Layers Not Working

I save a layered PSD CS2 doc as PDF with the save layers box checked; When I view the file in acrobat 6 or 8, there are no layers in the layers panel. Why would that happen? TIA

Because PDF layers and Photoshop layers are different things.

If you reopen the PDF in Photoshop (you should really give it a PDP extension) the layers will be there.

I believe the terminology has been changed in CS3 to "preserve Photoshop editing capabilities" to better reflect what’s happening.
