I don’t think mine has ever uttered a peep!

All I can think of is to check your Control Panel’s Sounds applet to see if any sounds have been assigned to Organizer events, and remove any you may find…. but I can’t imagine how they would have gotten assigned in the first place.

….it beeps????? Never heard it make any sounds.. didn’t know that it could….

Open the Editor, Go to Edit>Preferences>General and see if "Beep when done" is checked. This is unchecked in my iteration. I don’t see anything comparable among the Organizer’s preferences. Let us know how you make out.

To all who replied, Thanks.

As suggested yesterday, by Byron Gale, I identified the culprit sound in Control Panel > Sounds as Windows XP Ding.wav. No connection to PSE 3 was evident but by deleting this sound the problem was solved.
