Brush tool in Eraser won’t work: elements 2.0

I have used these tools before but now in erase mode, no matter the brush size, I can only erase a very thin line. Caps lock is off. I can shift to block and pencil mode and they both work. I have tried resetting my eraser tools. Is it user problems or program problems? Help? Thanks!

Do you have a graphics tablet connected to your computer?

This can happen when tablet support is enabled, and you are using a "normal" mouse.

On the Options bar, with the Brush tool selected, click the "More Options" button and, if enabled, disable Tablet Support.

If you have a graphics tablet connected, try using its dedicated mouse to see if things work better.
