I was one of the ones who bought 3.0 not knowing that 4.0 was coming out within a month or so.
I called 206-675-6358, and they told me that my purchase date (Sept 4) did qualify me for 4.0 for free, except for shipping. The shipping was $5.95, and the tax was 49 cents.
The process didn’t take very long, and the wait before the support person answered was zero.
I did have to fax a proof of purchase (invoice, mailing slip, credit card statement, etc.).
So this is the process. Someone else said Aug 28 or after was the qualifying purchase date, but I didn’t ask Tech Support about that.
Now if the shipment actually comes. . . . .
