In the font family window, is there any way to make the name of the font be each font. In powerpoint it is really easy to chose a font because the name of the font is the font. I would like PS to be the same.
Is it a pref setting/

Doug,

No, Photoshop will not display the font the way it does in MS applications.

What most people do is this.

If you are on a text layer, simply click in the font family box so that it’s entirely highlighted. Then use the arrow keys to cycle through the fonts – your text layer will automatically change so you can see what your text will look like in that font.

Optionally, select your text with the text tool, press Ctrl-H to hide your selection and do the same thing in the font family box.
