I have been having this problem with Photoshop 7.0 for a while, where I cannot paste from "Windows" to Photoshop. I often use print screen, and while Paint can paste the screenshot no problem, Photoshop does nothing.

I found a solution that said to apply a registry edit to add:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0]
“AlwaysImportClipboard”=dword:00000001

I did that and the clipboard did not seem to work. The only time it does work, is sometimes after a fresh restart when PS is first opened. Any time after that the clipboard feature is inoperable.

I finally decided to upgrade to CS3 and was upset to learn that it has the same problem. I applied the registry patch to this install too:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\10.0]
“AlwaysImportClipboard”=dword:00000001

But it still doesnt work. I’ve seen people complaining about this in forums since 2006. Are you telling me that Adobe has released 3 new PS versions since 7.0 there is still no fix?\

I hope someone here can help me out.

quitting and restarting ps usually clears it. does that work for you?

Are you telling me that Adobe has released 3 new PS versions since 7.0 there is still no fix?

i’m not sure they’ve ever been able to recreate it.

No, the only time it ever works is right after a restart, and when I open PS for the first time. Lately it hasnt worked at all, including after a restart.

It seems that so many people are all having this issue that Adobe should consider issuing some kind of patch.
