I upgraded from cs3 to cs4, actually being very happy with cs3, but I wanted to stay updated on the newest features, as well as getting 64 bit performance, so I bought the upgrade.
I have a Intel quad core 2 (q9450 @ 2.66 GHz) with 8 gb of ram. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce8800 GTS 512
System:
Windows Vista (Business) 64 bit
– Latest drivers for vid card installed from Nvidia
– Latest directx
– Latest photoshop update (11.0.1)
What:
Installed correctly but the system would often lag like a SOB after a while (clone, heal, paint tool and just about everything got a 1.5 second lag to it).
Restarting CS4 only partly fixed the problem, as it would often reoccur after a while when opening a couple of photos and start working again!
Not much else on the system from the get go (although I’ve installed things in Vista later on, cs4 was from the beginning!).
Cs4 is more or less USELESS to work with when you have to do post work, like cloning and healing for a longer period of time.
This is a DISGRACE, seriously, you guys have now been TINKERING with this issue for the better part of 6 months and you STILL haven’t come up with a solution, not even a proper workaround (like totally disabling this 3d that no one needed in the first place, tried it, didn’t make a shred of difference!).
I really wanted cs4 for the 64 bit capabilities but so far, this experience has been slower than a snail race in the desert.
I want my money back…..! =/
And don’t come here with that "you need a compatible video card" nonsense!
My system can run the newest games and have top score in Vista performance vise, why the he11 would I need to buy new hardware to run a measly drawing program?
Get real….!
Make another patch, which enables me, trough ONE CLICK, to disable these 3d idiot features that I didn’t need in the first place.
Yes I am pissed, I paid good money for this and now it is getting to the point where i am using 100%-150% more time on my photos to get them finished for my clients.
I am loosing time, and time is money, do you want me to bill you??
FIX THE PROBLEM OR GIVE A REFUND!
Yes, I know support is a crappy job, but whoever from adobe reading this, this is what you get your pay check for, now report back that the "patch" you came out with DIDN’T WORK!
