Maybe not quite the correct NG.

I have a PDF file and I want to edit the first page which is a badly marked picture, I have opened that page in photoshop but it saves it as a seperate image file.
Is there a way I can swap the bad with the good? So that the good picture goes back into the PDF file.

thanks

1 Split the PDF file between Page 1 and the rest
2 Edit Page 1 in Photoshop
3 Save the tidied-up Page 1 as a PDF file
4 Combine the new Page 1 with the rest of the old PDF file

There are freeware PDF Tools available to do 1, 3 & 4. You have already managed 2.

AFAIK there is no application that allow you to edit a PDF file ‘in situ’ without splitting/recombining it. If anyone else knows better then I will be interested.

Have a look at http://angusj.com/pdftkb/
Scroll down to PDFTK Builder. It’s a basic PDF manipulator but it’s frre and it does work.

I used one called PDF Tools with good results. Look for the links on http://bestfreewareblog.com/2006/10/14/pdftools-12/
