Sorry I was surprised by your question as I thought you knew better anyway 😉 And I misinterpreted what you wanted.
Generally, App icons are within a dll and you can only associate the files with that icon if you have that particular dll on your computer. Consequently, what you want to do is unlikely to be possible.
However, and it’s probably illegal, but it may be possible to import the icon from the relevant dll into an icon editor which will read the relevant dll. Try some of the shareware icon editors and see if they’ll read it. 🙂
