After I have scanned about 8 images (it varies), I get this message. Is it that I am running 5.5 now on a windows ME system? Is it a hardware issue? Help? I am getting tired of this!

Also, often when I go to save an image on a CD in my writable drive, the whole system locks up. Can’t shut down normally and I can not get access to any of the images on the CD when restarted. If I insert the disk, the system locks up again.

I am running a Sony Vaio with 512 ram.

Sounds more like a bug in your scanner driver.
