Hope someone can help. I am trying to print images from PS on my Canon i950 printer and just cannot get black & white prints without a strong cast. I’ve calibrated the PC using PS and have purchased a ready-made profile for the correct printer & paper (Canon Photo Pro)- all to no avail.

I am shooting RAW files from my Nikon D100 and then desaturating them in PS.

Am I missing something, being stupid or doing anything wrong?

All suggestions welcome

Thanks

Paul

Supposedly a know issue with Canon. I have heard of people taking ALL the cartridges out except the black one and getting better results. Also, you DO have the Grayscale option checked in the printer properties when doing B&W right? I use Qimage (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/) print any photos, so I have adjusted the sliders in it to compensate the "slight" color cast I saw long ago.

Also, you can try this. Print the image out and if it has a slight cast, don’t worry about it. Place the print when dry ( a minute after printing) into a zip lock bag. Zip the bag closed. Place the bag in your desk drawer (dark in there) for at least 12 hours. Take it out and it should have its colors "set" and they will last longer….
