hi,

i’m looking for a way of quickly converting dv footage in either photoshop cs or after effects 6 to a look of animation or a handdrawn look. any ideas not too time consuming???

try filter> stylize> Glowing edges.

then Image> Adjustments> Invert

then Image> Adjustments> Desaturate

then Image> Adjustments> Brightness and Contrast

and or

Image> Adjustments> Threshold

Should be easily actionable once you get the look you want.

Check out the Action Exchange. There are a few good cartoon effect actions out there.

how do i go about using these ‘actions’? fairly new to photoshop.

did you try what i suggested? takes about 2 minutes. then look up actions in the online help for a quick how to.
