Add a layer mask to the grid layer and fill with a black->white gradient. Set the grid layer to multiply mode and lower its opacity.

rctfan2,

Can you post a link to the original image?

If it is a single layered image you will want to redo the grid on it’s own layer. You then need to determine how you would like to use it.

Do you just want the grid lines to change color?
Do you want the boxes of the grid to be filled with another color that fades from transparent to opaque to eventually cover the pattern?

What you may want is a background layer with the blue color you want to fade to.

The next layer should be the original image with a gradient layer mask for your fade.

The top layer should be the grid lines in the color of your choice perhaps also with a gradient layer mask.

It all depends on what you want to do.

rctfan2,

If you want more help we are going to need more information it the way of a better description of what you want.

Here are some examples <http://www.geocities.com/photohelp2002/Grid/> of a simple stain glass texture transitioning to a grid. Do any of them look like what you want?

rctfan2,

Which one? Although they all use the same basic techniques there are subtle differences. However they can all be done with 3 layers.

Here is the layer order…

Top: Grid lines – With gradient fill & gradient layer mask. Middle: Background texture – with gradient layer mask.
Background: Solid color or gradient background depending on which image you look at.
