In case you’ve used a mask – or need to use a mask – to mask out parts of the ‘reflection’ image.

At step 3 make a copy of the water surface as a separate file. Then use the Distort/Displace filter using the new file as the mask. This distorts the ‘reflected’ image exactly in sync with the existing ripples.

Adobe put out a pdf called "Liquify Gallery PS 7" where the Liquify command was used.

Use the Reflect tool to create a reflection. Then choose the Warp tool and with Strengy approx. 20, move the tool back and forth over the reflected part…to creat a wavy, watery effect.

There are tutes on the net showing this technique. Try google and ask about Liquify and water reflections for starters.

Better: consider the flood plugin. It is pretty cheap and makes realistic reflections. www.flamingpear.com
