Adobe photoshop 7.0.1 clash in win 98

Iam Using Intel HT processor with 512 mb RAM and with more than 10 Gb free space. In win 98 When I upgraded Photoshop ver 6.0 to ver 7.0.1 the application is not opening ,it is quitting while opening where it is working fine in win XP.
I have tried in 3 systems but facing same priblems.
what could be the problem??? pl help me in this

Are you using Win98 SE? I believe that was the minimum stated requirement on the box. There may be a library or routine missing from the earlier version that is preventing Photoshop 7 from launching. If it is actually putting up the splash screen, pay attention to what is on it. If Photoshop crashes while displaying "Scanning Fonts" – see the FAQ, you have a bad font somewhere on that system.

You didn’t actually install 7.0 on top of 6.0 did you?

I’d also point out that that you’d be much better off running Win 2K or XP.

Strange. V7.0.1 works fine on my Win98 SE.
