Even after some time of using photoshop and a monitor calibration tools, I am still somewhat confused on things. Can someone give me a simple step by step what I need to do instructions?

This is my setup….

Photoshop CS
Hitachi CM823F monitor
ATI 9800XT Video Card
PhotoCal Ver 2.7 with Monitor Spider

I know how to use PhotoCal to create a custom profile. This seems to put a photocal program in my startup folder that loads this custom created profile. I see my monitors color look change just after windows XP starts.

Do I also need to to tell my monitor about this profile? (ie Control Panel, Display, Advanced, Color Management) Since a custom profile is being loaded at startup, do I need to set this as my default color profile for my monitor/video card? Or should I have no profile at all indicated in my display properties?

Now onto Adobe Photoshop CS. What do I need to set my color settings to? I assume, I want to pick something like Adobe RGB for my working space. (not this custom profile)

Again, please step by step simple instructions. Thanks in advance….

Greg
