I tried masking tape over one corner (same as white square above) on real 20. Works fine.

You don’t need to do that or go to that amount of trouble. Open Image Ready, you can scan the note in there and then transfer to Photoshop.

There is a patch available to allow this but it would not be appropriate to post it here – do a search in the binaries or on the web for it. I haven’t used it, so I have no idea if it works but I have seen references to it.

Don’t want to cause anyone to worry but I have read that there is a possibility that the software with this currency lock reports you when you try to duplicate a banknote.

You don’t need to do that or go to that amount of trouble. Open Image Ready, you can scan the note in there and then transfer to Photoshop.

Not if you have a halfway decent firewall and don’t allow Adobe products access to the Net. 😉

Its a piece of spyware easily disabled
The process is very simple. Just go into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Web and rename the program AOM.exe to AOM.xxx. This prevents it from running for ALL Adobe products.
