I just purchased the ESD version of the Photoshop CS through the Adobe Store. In the readme it states that there are two documents in PDF included, one is the Quickstart card and the other is the User manual. I have searched my entire system and these two documents are non existant. I have searched the Adobe Site and been unable to find a way to download these documents. So I guess the industry standard for software is buy and then try forever to figure out how to use it cause it no longer comes with a Manual.

If it sounds like I am pissed its cause I am, having bought almost every version since 1.0 many times, working for different companies. I expected am upgrade to increase productivity not decrease it. I bought this upgrade when I had a need and I have a job to get done before monday morning. The thing is there is no damn manual to look at to see if the features I am using are working correctly. But thats ok, the software has slowed down so much from the previous version that it will be next month before the job gets done anyway. Shame on Adobe for producing a negative upgrade and having a total lack of respect for it’s customers. But hey they got activation working and now they are working with the US Govt to help the world into a Big Brother environment.

If anyone knows where to download the manuals Id really appreciate a link. I bought it so I should get em!!

Thanks for letting me rant

Rick

Rick, The manual is no longer called User Guide. It is now called PS Help Guide and it is a 720 page pdf manual which you will find on the CD ROM. I think it was in the Help Folder. It was not very obvious. Also the help built into the application’s help menu is pretty good as well. Rgds, MM

MM and everyone,

Thanks for the replys, as I stated though I purchased the Electronic Download so have no CD. I also looked in the help area and there is no PS Help Guide either. It looks like if you choose electronic download you dont get a manual, and they even make more more off the esd cause they dont have to send you the manual.

Thanks for the attempts though

Rick, if you contact Adobe they will have a record of your purchase and will send you a link to one of their secure web sites where you can get the user guide. Rgds, MM

I can’t believe that. Search the whole program files\adobe structure for "*.pdf". It’s gotta turn up. If all else fails the help file (F1 from in the program) is the same as manual.

Rick,

I have Downloaded PS CS for Mac and it DOES come with PDF manual. It is one of the two documents inside Help folder: PhotoshopCSHelp.pdf. Exactly the same 750 page PDF that I have on my Windows version CD.

I can’t believe Windows download wouldn’t have manual. Something went wrong with your download if this file is missing.
