Should I uninstall my previous versions of Photoshop/Image Ready, Illustrator, and Acrobat before install the newest versions of the software?

Thanks.

No. In fact, so long as you have sufficient space to accommodate multiple versions, it is often to your advantage to leave the older version installed along with the new version. This allows you time to transition to the new version and get acquainted with new features and even less-obvious differences. Also, it provides you with time to learn whether the new version is going to be troublesome on your particular PC configuration, and to pursue solutions to such problems.

The main thing to be aware of is that you always install PS to a new path when a new version is being installed. Do not attempt to install a new version over an older one.

Thanks Daryl.

I did see in the Suite Forum, (after I posted my question,) they do recommend uninstalling Acrobat before installing 6.

Acrobat is the one exception to the rule. Only one version should be installed at a time.

I installed the trial version of CS, had problems, uninstalled it and tried again. Did this 3 times and now my purchased version won’t work. Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Yes. Start a new thread. List your full system specs and a little more detail that "had problems".

Only if you want to. Most people prefer to leave the old version until they are comfortable with the new.

If you do uninstall, it would be advisable to say no to uninstalling any shared files.

Before uninstalling Illustrator 10, be sure to read Illustrator CS: Let’s talk about the new text engine. <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?13@@.2ccdcf7b/0> It discusses some issues with backward compatibility that you may want to consider, if you have associates who are still using older releases.
