Adjustment Layers in PS 7

Adjustment layers worked fine til this weekend. Tech worked on machine and now when I use Adjustment Layers it freezes. I can make adjustments in regular mode, but not in Adj Layers. Everything else in system works perfectly. I tried Tiff, PSD no luck. Images are 8 bit, RGB.

System info: OS XP Dual Processor 3.2gighz Pen. 2 gig RAM 200 gigs of HDs.

First thing to try is a prefs reset [per FAQ]. Then come back here.

Thanks for the input. I did as you suggested and everything worked just fine. I didn’t think that the Perfs also controlled the Adjustment Layer operation.

There is nothing intuitive about this. It seems to be a PS characteristic that, if it starts behaving oddly, resetting prefs oftens sorts it out.
