For the most part, my CS browser has worked OK. I don’t like the looooong time it takes to display the files in a folder, expecially a new folder. But I recently added several folders containing very large files created from scans. Many at 720DPI and some even at 1200. I would estimate these folders contain about 20 to 30 pics. When I click on these folders in the explorer portion of the browser to display the thumbnails in that folder, PS CS locks up and I have to use task managar to shut down because CS is "not responding". It appears the browser is "getting" the files, that is creatig the thumbnails for these large files.
Now I am in a "loop". Everytime I launch PS CS again, it starts where I left off, that is, the browser is open and it tries to create the thumbnails again. CS Stops responding again
So… I am now going to open the folder outside of PS and remove most of the files to reduce the number of thumbnails that have to be created. I assume that will allow the browser to finish what it is trying to do.
Does anyone else have this problem with folders containing large files in the CS Browser? I assume I am not the first that has had this problem.
By the way, I have a Win XP Pro, P4 3.0GHz 800 FSB, 2 GB of DDR400, and 10K serial ATA drives. The machine flies, and I am confident this is not a hardware performance issue.
Thanks in advance
