I once knew of a method for straightening scanned photos using, I believe, the measuring tool but can’t seem to remember the steps. Can anyone help?

Hey Pixelhead,

That’s right the measure tool is ideal for this purpose.

With the measure tool selected click at one corner and then click on the next corner on the longest side from the initial point.

Then choose image, rotate canvas, arbitrary. PS will enter the correct angle to adjust the image. Click OK and it will straighten.

It’s best to straighten before you crop, gives you more to work with.

Easy, Open the photo in PS.
Choose the measure tool (behind the Eyedropper). Find something that is supposed to be straight and drag the ruler across it. The info pallette will show the angle of the line you just created. Go to the Image menu, under rotate canvas and click Arbitrary. Click OK. Now just crop it to size and yer all set.
