Control-clicking on an object to select the layer it belongs to does not work when the layer is inside a group. I’ve just started using CS2 and seems that this old trick does not work anymore. Is there a way to select the layer?

Thanks,

With the Move Tool selected you can check the option ”Auto Select Layer" in the tool bar (also "auto select groups’ etc)

Thanks for the suggestion. With auto select layer on, you don’t need to press Control key to select a layer. But, you can’t select a layer inside a group. It only reaches the group level, but not the layers inside it.

Thanks,
