Hi,

I’m looking for a way to ‘blend’ the edges of an image like so: http://www.nancysherman.com/images/elegant-va-home.jpg

I know this is probably something very simple but I’m a little overwhelmed with all of Photoshop’s many functions.

Thanks!

Justin

There are SEVERAL ways.
The easiest is to choose either the rectangle or oval Marquee tool Drag/draw inside your pic a quarter inch or more
Then under Window>Show Actions
Select the Vignette action and click the Play arrow at the bottom It will pop for a feather amount, enter 10px or more, OK This will make a white default background layer, so you can select that layer and fill it with any color you want.

PS_I’m using old PS 6.0.1, so things may vary.

Hi,

You can create an new layer above the photo, fill it with the color of your desire, erase everything you don’t want to be covered on the Photo.

greetings

You can create an new layer above the photo, fill it with the color of your desire,

then make the marquee in rectangle or oval as you like put in box at top feather number (larger for hi res images (15-25)
check the look using the quick mask button at bottom of tool bar, then invert the selection and choose edit>clear
