Hi,
I’m using PS7 and when I try opening the Blending options dialog for a layer, the dialog never appears. I know it is active somewhere because I can’t do anything on screen. If I press esc then it puts me back into editing mode. I had a dual screen setup once and I suspect it is off on the screen that I no longer have hooked up. Is there anyway to reset this dialog to the current screen?

Thanks
Ray

Try Window>Workspace>Reset Palette Locations. If that doesn’t do it trash prefs.

Ok, reseting the palettes did not work. So how do I "trash prefs"?

Hi.

Switch your Monitor to its highest resolution setting, then you might just see enough of the palette to drag it back into the main window.

I got it back by deleting the prefs at
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings

Good. I thought that Tesco News’ idea was a good one. Similar thing happened to a friend’s MAC laptop. At home he had a second monitor, but didn’t bring it down here with him. His Shadow&Highlight dialog box was last set to mointor 2. I had to lend him an LCD to "get it back." He worried that any monitor that had EVER been hooked up to a PC might corrupt his MAC, but it seemed to work fine. About six months later, in the Galopagos, it died, but I doubt that the PC monitor had ANYTHING to do with that. <G>

Easy way: hold down Ctrl-Alt-Shift while starting Photoshop and follow the prompts.
