In the WinXP Control Panel Printer Properties Color Management tab, there are two options for the printer profiles: Auto and Manual. From the descriptions, Auto means Windows will select the best profile, and Manual means a default profile will be used. How does either option comes into play when soft proofing and printing from PS CS? For example, if soft proofing with a specific profile, will it over ride the Auto and Manual settings?
