When using the Patch tool I don’t get a complete patch repair. The area being patched is not completely replaced. There is still a ghost in the area I want removed. Transparent box is unchecked. It’s like I have transparancy or opacity setting incorrect somewhere and I am not getting a complete repair.

Thats an important element of the patch tool, i.e. it does not remove the texture of the patched area.

What you require for total area replacement is the CLONE tool. (with the appropriate settings set to your requirements)
