My friend has a laptop and wants to use the CRT she has attached to her laptop
as the defalt monitor. I have never
owned a laptop a don’t know how to help her. If some can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

It may be like hooking up a projector, which is really just a type of monitor. I think F12 comes into play to turn off the laptop’s monitor, but it’s been a while since I’ve done it. Just plug in the monitor into the port on the back of the laptop…I guess she’s done this part already, right?

Yes she has. She can’t use adobe gamma for the CRT. XP Pro is on the Computer. I think the CRT is a ViewSonic P Series. I have no problem with changing monitors on my system but it’s not a laptop.

I remember when I was using a projector during visits to local high schools representing a local community college, I had to make sure the resolution was set to 800 by 600 or I would get a weird line across the projection image. But with a regular monitor, I’m sure the resolution capabilities are far superior. I could leave the laptop monitor on or I could press one of the function keys, F12 I think, to turn off the laptop screen and use only the projector. The projector plugged into the same VGA port that a monitor would. So what exactly is she having a problem with?
