Hi all

I have been issued a project which involves making 2 Desktop themes and having custom made icons.

Please, can anyone point me in the right direction of how I can create and then save the icon so it is recognised as an icon. I know it must be 32×32 pixels in size and needs to be saved as a .ico file. So far I have been unable to get the theme software I am using (Desktop Architect) to recognise it as such.

Your help and advice is much welcomed.

Purchase an icon editor. It’s a hassle otherwise, and the editors are cheap (about $30, last I looked).

Although some of the retail editors are very good if its only for a small project there are lot of freeware apps. out there, have a look at –

There is a piece of excellent ‘Freeware’ called Irfanview which will do your icons for you. It can be downloaded free of charge from www.irfanview.com
