I’m having a problem with the keywords function in CS’s file browser.

keywords don’t seem to apply to gifs. when i try to check the box to apply a keyword to a gif image, i get an error: "The file _filename.gif_ does not have XMP or an other way to store metadata."

What do I need to enable my gifs to store metadata? Is it possible?

This feature works fine for Psd, jpg, tif, etc.

I appreciate any advice. Thanks, Nina

In Photoshop CS help, under _Adding Metadata to Files_ it says:

"You can add metadata to files saved in PSD, PDF, EPS, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF formats. The information you add is embedded in the file using XMP."

So, can GIFs support metadata or not?

In _Working with Keywords_, the help does not say keywords don’t work with GIFs.

Can someone from Adobe tell me definitively whether or not there is a way for GIFs to support the keyword function?
