Error Message: Cannot complete your request because of a program error

This error message appears when I try to impport a scan from my scanner. It happens in both Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 2.0. I use a Canon D2400U scanner. My PC is new. Windows XP Pro. 512mb RAM. Pentium 4/2.4 GHz, 80Gb HDD. I have Adobe Photoshop 7, Photoshop Elements 2.0, AfterEffects 5.5, ImageReady 7.0, Premiere 6.5 installed. Sometimes I can get passed this message on a second scan but then when I try to save the image (usually as a jpeg) the program turns itself off immediately. All help appreciated.

Can someone give me some help with this pls? I’ve looked at resetting prewferences without success

Sounds like your scanner software is a bit buggy.
