Is there a program that will automatically space and arch text to allow it the text to then be transferred onto a surface that is a circle?

Let me clarify – I want to print then transfer the text to be below and around the the outside rim of a bowl.

The text does not have to compensate for the curve of the bowl, but it does have to compensate for the circular surface.

Does something like this exist?

Thank you

Ray

Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand come to mind. You can attach the text to the circle and have it be on the outside or the inside.

Peadge 🙂

Ahaa! This sounds like one for the amzing, the brilliant, the amazing and brilliant R-uussseell Brown

I watched one of his tutorials about text around the outline of a dancer

If that doesn’t do the trick nothing will

It uses a combination of PSCS and Illie CS

do a google on Russell Brown – it may be www.russellbrown.com but I ain’t 100% sure at the mo’

Aerticus

see it – and be amazed

Coreldraw! is eaiser and more intuitive to use. You can shape the text to fit the curve ove of the bowl any way you like 🙂

Just draw a path, select the type tool and place the cursor on the path. Start typing.

Before you start getting all sarcastic, read what he originally wrote :"You can do this in Photoshop CS too….the’re a "fit text to path" feature built in now…"

as fara as I am aware, there is no such feature… Of course he meant type on path?… but then there are always fascetious people on newsgroups who like to state the bloody obvious..

Before you start getting all sarcastic,

I’m not getting sarcastic. I’m just trying to answer your question, but if you don’t appreciate that, so be it.

I don’t appreciate it when people don’t know what they are talking about.

What you said was not very constructive, was it?

If you’re trying to start a flame war: sorry, I won’t bite.

I just explained how to get text on a path, that’s all. And I couldn’t care less whether you think that was constructive or not.

Likewise, I couldn’t care less about your useless and facile contribution. I am not trying to start a’flame war’ , i am asking that you at least read a thread properly before giving a considered response. you didn’t explain anything. the guy said ‘fit on path’ not ‘type on path’ moron.

So now we have established that the way to ‘fit text on a path’ is to type it again. A big difference, and certainly worth insulting people.
