So far as I’ve been able to work out its not possible, but I thought I’d ask in case anyone knows or has worked out a way of converting brushes made in CS to V7.
I have brushes tyhat I make available for download on one of my sites and would hate to have to do them all again just for version 7! thanks in advance.

When you tried these in Version 7, what sort of error message did you get, if any?

The message I get is:

"Could not load brushes because the file is not compatable wikth this version of photoshop"

Some brushes made by others will open but for some reason behave like erases :-/

I can’t open Photoshop 7 and CS at the same time, so that eliminates one option. But another may exist. What if you use each brush on a transparent background, just click…no dragging…at 100% opacity in black and a large size and then save the file using the name of the brush. Open each file in Photoshop 7 and go to edit > Define brush.

Would that work? Might be a bit time consuming though.

I have no brushes that don’t work in one version to test it.

That’s weird about them behaving like erasers!

thanks I’ll give that a try 😀 it is weird but probably of some use them acting as erasers 😉 I’m going to bare it in mind for next time lol thanks for the tip. Its a shame adobe don’t have a conversion program out for it really.
