I’ll start with the specs:
Windows XP
Dell Dimension 2400
768 MB RAM
40G HD -no partitions (I know, I know…)
Photoshop 7
Maximum RAM used by Photoshop (Edit/Preferences) 65%
Cache level 3

Please forgive me if I provide too much information. I’m really at a loss here and I’d like to cover all the bases.
I am having an ongoing issue with Photoshop while working on an image 770×450, RGB Mode. Currently, the image has 22 layers, not many at all, really. Everytime I try to modify a specific text layer (Arial Narrow 12 pt.), I am getting the error:
Could not use the type tool. Not enough memory (RAM)
It happens right after I use the color picker to choose the font color, then clicking the "Move" tool.
I have checked numerous documents and forums to try and optimize Photoshop to ensure an issue like this doesn’t arise, but to no avail.
I have read the entire article located here regarding optimization of Photoshop: <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/12dde.htm>
I have cleared out nearly 100MB of memory on startup and tracked it and at the time of making the change, I have nearly 470 MB RAM available for my system, yet I still get the error.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why this might be occurring?
