I have 2 images on my web site.
I sized them in Photoshop to 979 x 688
When i look at them they are 2 different sizes.
When i select properties they are both 979 x 688
Whay do they display differently ?
How can i fix this ?

If you need to see them go to www.geocities.com/desgnr
They are the 2 bottom images.

They do not display differently: the second image has a large white area.

Just like on your offline computer, the HTML code doesn’t really care much about the resolution, but it will display base on what you tell it to display.

1. You can code it to display 1×1 or 10×10 or whatever window.

2. If you tell it to display the original size (or no specific window size) then it will display to it max. And depending on the feature of the browser, some can shrink to fit whatever screen, some just display the resolution the user will have to move around to see the whole image.

How can you fix it?

You can tell the HTML code to display as a smaller (specific) thumbnail size, and double_click to display the full size. If your browser like newer IE which has option to shrink the image to fit the screen, then you can tell it to display as whatever resolution (if you wish).

IOW, it sounds like the problem is at your end not the web.

It IS the same size as the other images, it’s just that a lot of that image is white. Put a border on it and you’ll see.

Andrew answered your post correctly. Copy the images from the web page and paste into an image viewer (Irfanview?). The second image has white space underneath and to the right.

Also, your html is faulty: there are many missing closing >s. If you open the page in Firefox and press <ctrl>U then it will show you in red where there are problems. (Mostly the closing </table> tags.)

A page title other than "Page Title" might look more professional. And you might notice in the source some comments along the line of "<!– text below generated by server. PLEASE REMOVE –>".

I opened the image in Photoshop & copied the image only. Then i made a new image where i pasted the image & sized it. But it still has the border.
How do i get the image only at the size i want ?

If you can hear me, the best way would be to render it again at the desired size.

That’s what I figured 😉 Or maybe he’s just trolling, judging from his question about converting to b/w. Although from his resume he appears to be too old for childish behaviour. OTOH, he does list using Photoshop as one of his skills(!)
