Hiya everybody… I was just wondering how other people do web page interfaces in Photoshop. You know what I mean, right? Uniquely shaped header images for a page, often complex shapes. I have tried several ways with mixed results. I have used different selection tools to add and subtract from a selection that is eventually filled with color and then fine tuned as necessary. I have more recently begun to use carefully set up guides and the pen tool. Although the pen tool has gotten me better results in general, I still often am displeased with my results. Do I need to just keep experimenting, or are there other ways to approach this? Also I would love to see some examples of header interface designs/shapes that other people have done. Oh yeah, one more thing… How can I get that washed out look with my colors, sort of how the Macromedia site used to have… It sort of looks as if you would have put watered down white paint on a wadded up paper towel and dabbed it onto your color… It also sort of gives the color a sort of pasty clay-like appearance… I really like that look, but have been unable to achieve it on my experimenting… Thanks,Bryan

Brian,

for the chalky look, try thr sponge tool or try sponge under Filter>Artistic>Sponge. You can make rounded edges in Image Ready and there are quite a lot of web page templates on the extra CD that comes with PS7
