Hi,

I have an image where the actual edges of the image are beveled but where i cropped it is sharp. The beveled edges are uneven. I want to be able to have the image blend softly into the background, but I don’t know how to soften the edges so they blend smoothly.
I’m sure this is a super easy question. If someone could tell me how to put a copy fo the image in this post I’d be happy to post it. I’m using Photoshop 6.0.

Thanks.

Using your Marquee Tool (M) click and drag about 100 pixels inside your image so it’s even all way around. Next, go to Select>Feather (Alt>Ctrl>D) and give the value of about 60-70 pixels. Next, Select>Invert (Shft>Ctrl>I) and hit the delete button and the edge will fade.

Experiment with the pixel value till you get the desired effect.
