I am in the process of purchasing a new camera. My older cameras all had the ability to imprint the date in the right corner of the image. The new cameras that I am interested in do not have this ability.

Can anyone help me to find an easy way to do this in Photoshop without degrading the file?

Many thanks,

Bill

You would need to put the date on a separate text layer if you don’t want to degrade the image so saving as native PSD would be the best way. If you want to get the date the picture was taken, you need to access the EXIF data. Best way to do this is with a script. Alternative is to record an action and manually set the date in the action. You would need to re-record the action for each set of files with a different date.

I suggest trying this script from the adobeexchange: <http://tinyurl.com/2y2ta>

Thanks for your help. I just ordered the new Sony DSC W-1 which has most of the features I wanted except for a larger zoom range. This is compensated by the fact that it will take additional lenses. It is supposed to ship around June 4. I decided to give up zoom ability after realizing that applying the image and saving the JPG file would add to degradation. I agree saving as native PSD would work, but the file sizes would increase immensely.

Thanks again for your help,

Bill
