I want to take all the jpgs in a directory and use the adjustments>auto levels in one move for the entire directory. I was told you could do a batch job on this. I went performed this operation (Ajustments>Auto Levels ) on one image and save it in the actions tab. After that I can not see the new action when I select file>automate>batch . Can this function (Ajustments>Auto Levels) be automated or not? What am I not doing right?

Rick:

If your Actions Palette is not visible, press F9 to show it.

Look among your actions and click on (highlight) the auto levels action you recorded. Be sure you click on the action (the white horizontal bar), not the folder it lives in (gray horizontal bar).

Then File > Automate > Batch. The action you highlighted will be preselected and you should be good to go.

Does this help?
