Hi.
Is there any way to preview fonts in illustrator as we are writing? i´m not talking about the option:

Preferences>font preview size…

i want to preview the text i am writting

I tried..but i still have to click once in each font to really see how the word would look in that font …then if i´m not happy i have to do the process again…" click once in the font field, then use the Up/Down Arrow keys and click again.."

This works in Photoshop – you could try it in Illy (I don’t have it)
First, highlight the type you want to change, and then press Command-H (PC: Control-H) to hide the highlighting (the type is still highlighted; the highlight is just hidden from view). Then, up in the Options Bar, click once in the font field, then use the Up/Down Arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through your installed typefaces.
