Hey all. I wonder if you folks could give me some help. Here’s the situation.

A young kid posted a bad (cell phone) pic of a fish he caught on a fishing board I frequent. The fish was a nice sized halibut that was caught off a pier in the SF bay area. This is not a common occurance in this area and the pic was challenged by a moderator on the board. I tried to explain to this mod that no matter how well your eyes are trained, no one can tell whether a pic was shopped or not 100% of the time using only the naked eye. He still insists it can be done although he beat around the bush and didn’t come right out and say it.

What I’d like to do is post 4 to 6 pics on his board, half shopped, half not, and test his ‘well trained eyes’. Can you guys point me to some pics that may be useful? What I’m hoping for is well done shopped pics and peculiar looking unshopped pics. Urls are prefered, but we can also use email if needed. Let’s just see how well trained his eyes are.

I would be happy to report the results back here afterwards. So come on, help me bury this guy! Thanks either way.

Forgot to mention, the adult accusing the youngster of altering the pic admits that he is not a photoshop expert.

Also fyi, I tried to do a search in this group for something that might be useful and didn’t find anything.

I had 2 goals in mind before I posted here. First to convince the adult that photoshop can no longer be written off as a utility or hobby. I believe it is an art form when put in the right hands.

Secondly and sadly, I wanted to convince fellow fishermen that ‘photographic proof’ is no longer proof.

I haven’t looked in ABIF yet, but I can imagine what’s there. Thanks anyway.
