I’m working through PS CS Classroom In A Book series. In Lesson 5 spell checking French Canadian text is required but I get an error saying the needed dictionary is missing. I know where the Dictionary folder is in the Program Files folder but how do I install the language files, or repair the problem that generated the error message?

Jim,

In the Character palette, choose a language from the pop-up menu at the bottom of the palette. This sets the dictionary for spell-checking.

Are you saying that ‘Canadian French ‘ isn’t listed in the drop-down?

The French Canadian, and other languages, are in the character pallette, but when I run the spell checker I get an error message.

"Could not complete the Check Spelling command because a needed spelling dictionary is missing."

None of the other languages cause this error.

Thanks for the reply

I would do an uninstall/ reinstall after first seeing if deleting the prefs file (details in the FAQ at the top of this forum’s Topic List) doesn’t fix it.
