Help with Image Map

I’m new to PS and using 6.0. How do I get an image to load into Image map area and get coordinates for two different areas of the image? Tried a blooming dozen ways and can’t get it. Thanks for any help.

Photoshop is not a Web design program. It creates and edits graphics, but it is not the right tool to make Web pages.

Try using GoLive, Dreamweaver, or another Web page creation tool.

Amen. PS is an excellent, powerful tool for image manipulation, but it is not a Web design tool. Create the image you want to use as an image map (if you must) and then define your image map based upon it. Any modern Web development tool makes creating image maps a snap.

That said, image maps can very easily lead to "mystery meat navigation" issues. There are serious accessibility issues involved, as well. If you decide to go that route, be sure to provide alternative navigation methods and adhere to standards, lest your vision-impaired visitors be thwarted and the search engines look very askance at the idea of indexing your site.
