(Okay so don’t hit "enter" while in the subject field).

What experiences has anyone had with large format Epson printers. How robust are they? Is maintenance and upkeep difficult and/or expensive? Any other advice/experience, good or bad which you might want to share concerning Epson large format printers.

Steve: I’ve had my 7600 for about a year. NO problems with the printer…none. Of course, there have been some problems with the operator. (but that’s another story) The quality of the output is superb. The downside? Ink prices, in a word: ridiculous. (or outrageous) However there are ways around that problem. I’ve been a prophotog for several decades and I’m fussy about print quality. By the way, get the stand too…you won’t regret it.

Dutch – at least it’s cheaper than buying the smaller cartridges….

But yes, our 7600 has been wonderful.

Steve,

For something that prints 17 inches wide versus 24 inches wide for the Epson Stylus Pro 7600, consider the Epson Stylus Pro 4000 < http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/printers/epson-400 0-update.shtml>, which costs less and is more versatile and faster.
