Hi. Any help would be appreciated. I have a webpage that I’d like to slice up and put into html format along with images. My only problem is this: if you make one slice, it automatically makes it so that the outside sections of your slice are also slices. So say if I had only one image that I wanted to slice (make it simple), I’d go to slice that image, but in the meantime, it would set my background as an image as well. Is there any way to tell photoshop that you want this peice or that piece to remain as a background color rather than a sliced image? I know you can edit your final html, but that takes pretty much time. thanks.

when saving for web, you have the option to only output the slices you have selected (selected slices only). This will leave the other slices (cells) empty.
