Is there an action to create an embroidered look? I thought I saw one on the action xchange but now I cannot find it anyone with help??

Or a sewing/denim look.

I haven’t seen it in a while either–but you can easily create this effect in Illustrator and use it as a brush on shapes etc.

I have a student who did a whole sewing book using Illustrator brushes to replicate cross stitching and the double jeans thread look.

Maybe this:

Downsample the image to 1/20th of original size.
UPsample it back to original size (heavy pixelated).
blur it.
copy to layer.
Bas Relief this layer
Blend mode Overlay.
Shift opacity to taste.

Haven’t tried this, will do so when I get home.
